Random Quote of the Day #47
By Philip Stripling of Project PET Board
"Power tends to corrupt; and absolute power corrupts absolutely." - Lord Acton Power is a very good thing. Having power means having influence, in most cases, and it means that you can get things done. However, it can also be a bad thing. Once you get power, you may get a lust for power and want more and more. If you get more power, you will soon realize the power you have. You will then be left with two options: you can either use the power wisely and not abuse it, or you can abuse it and let it corrupt you. That is exactly what this quote is saying. If you have power, it can corrupt. If you have absolute power over anything, it corrupts absolutely and it is very hard to keep it from corrupting you. |
